About the NQ outbreak

An announcement was made on March 4, 2015 that Panama disease Tropical Race 4 (TR4) was confirmed in North Queensland. TR4  has been detected on one banana farm in the Tully Valley. This is the first confirmed case of TR4 in Queensland and the first in a major Australian banana growing region.

On August 20 and October 8, 2015 and March 1, 2016 there were announcements that there had been additional outbreaks on the same farm.
