Just one week to register for Congress!
There is just one week left to jump online and register for the biggest date on the banana industry’s calendar – Congress 2019.
Don’t miss the opportunity to join fellow growers and supply chain representatives on the Gold Coast for two days of learning, networking and motivation (May 22-24).
This year’s program will bring you the latest in R&D and industry news, a snapshot of the retail landscape, practical on-farm insights and hopefully a few laughs.
Among the presentations are:
· Global banana trade trends, featuring Marc Jackson (Fyffes Bananas International) and Wayne Prowse (Fresh Intelligence Consulting)
· Grower innovation, featuring Peter Inderbitzin (Lakeland), Rob Zahra (Innisfail), Mark Nucifora (Innisfail) and Matt Abbott (Innisfail)
· Living and farming with TR4, featuring Mark Smith (Darwin Fruit Farm) and Gavin and Stephen MacKay (MacKays Bananas)
· Future of Bananas and R&D, featuring discussion on breeding, genetics, and what lies ahead.
The two-days of plenary sessions will be complemented by site tours, a tradeshow, social events and, of course, the 2019 Banana Ball (with special guests comedian Dave Hughes and news presenter Georgina Lewis).
The five-star venue and Gold Coast location ensure this event will not only provide you with tools for your banana business, it will also give you plenty of time to relax and enjoy the festivities.
Banana Congress 2019 is almost here – register now to take part.

Hort Innovation
See how your levy is hard at work!
The banana R&D and marketing levies are invested through the Hort Innovation Banana Fund to help the industry be as productive and profitable as possible. From the Banana Plant Protection Program to iconic Australian Bananas consumer campaigns, you can find details on all levy-funded projects and programs – and access to levy-funded resources, reports and more – on Hort Innovation’s website at www.horticulture.com.au/banana. The Hort Innovation team will also have a stand at the Banana Congress in location 1, so be sure to swing by to say hello! At the stand you’ll be able to learn more about the investment of your levy in person, grab take-away resources, share your thoughts and feedback with your Hort Innovation Relationship Manager and Marketing Manager, and more.
