Have your say on the future of your levy-funded TR4 Control Program
Review of destruction zones
As a levy payer you are helping to fund the ABGC’s TR4 Control Program. After receiving feedback from a number of growers, destruction zones are one part of the program that the ABGC would like to review.
All growers are invited to attend one of two workshops to be held in North Queensland (and on-line) next week, where your input into the future of destruction zones (including size and other protocols) will be sought.
The workshops will be held:
Innisfail – Wednesday, 13 December, 3.30pm-5.30pm at South Johnstone and via Teams.
Tully – Thursday, 14 December, 2pm-4pm at the Tully Grandstand (Showgrounds) and via Teams.
Discussion will include:
- Pros and cons of current destruction zones
- Recent research into destruction zones for TR4, presented by Tony Pattison, DAF
- Should current zones be reduced in size?
- What are the costs associated with current zones?
- Other protocols, such as the use of urea
The ABGC wants to ensure you have an effective TR4 Control Program, that is economically sustainable and a program that you have direct input into.
If you would like to join a workshop via Teams or have any questions please contact the TR4 Control Program Manager, Geoff Wilson on 0418 644 068 or geoff@abgc.org.au
