This information helps DPI understand the extent of damage experienced by growers.
Take photos and keep receipts
Ensure that there’s a record of damage and repairs.
Keep receipts/invoices and other payment records saved, or in a safe, dry place.
Keep bags and waste secure
Growers are urged to:
- Secure all plastics away from flood-prone areas, creeks, and riverbanks.
- Dispose of waste responsibly
- Do not burn banana bags – burning plastic is unlawful and releases harmful emissions.
- Report any concerns to the QLD Government Pollution Hotline: 1300 130 372
