#ABGCatWork – Sarah Rowan

PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE:

To support the effective delivery of ABGC’s TR4 surveillance and grower support program by coordinating field operations, managing project deliverables, and ensuring activities are delivered on time and within budget. The role maintains key stakeholder relationships with Biosecurity Queensland and growers and provides reporting and program updates to ABGC management.

HOW HAS YOUR ROLE HAD IMPACT FOR GROWERS?

This role supports growers by ensuring consistent TR4 surveillance and meaningful engagement through field teams. It provides guidance on biosecurity practices, supports the early identification and management of potential risks, and builds grower confidence in the program while contributing to the long-term protection of the Australian banana industry.

Your Background

Over the past ten years, I have delivered complex construction and operational programs across Australia and New Zealand, often within remote and regionally dispersed environments. My experience includes managing multi-site projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, overseeing budgets and reporting, and delivering outcomes within strict timeframes and high-risk operating conditions. More recently ABGC, I have applied these skills within a biosecurity setting, supporting the delivery of TR4 surveillance activities, strengthening operational processes, and coordinating large-scale surveillance across the region. This experience has allowed me to build strong working relationships with growers, industry stakeholders, and Biosecurity Queensland while contributing to the effective delivery and reporting of the program.
