Australian Bananas go Back to School with Jana Pittman
It’s tough to get back into routine after the holiday season – whether it’s for school or work! While many growers will have worked throughout January, research shows 80 per cent of Aussies think they need ‘more energy’ at the start of the year.
That’s why Australian Bananas has launched The Champion Banana public relations and social media campaign, with a focus on providing healthy fuel for Back-to-School.
Olympic legend Jana Pitman is leading the charge, taking on her biggest challenge yet: a day (back) in primary school. Jana appeared on Sunrise this morning, which was a breakfast tv exclusive on Australia’s number one breakfast show, to share her experience and the benefits of bananas: check it out here!
Find out how Jana’s day at school went in the video below, which was also shared with media as part of the public relations media outreach to secure coverage of banana key messages:
The campaign has already achieved significant coverage (33 pieces of coverage, resulting in an estimated reach of 22.9m+ as at midday 18/1), including featuring on news.com.au.
TR4 board meetings ahead of industry transition
The transition of the delivery of the TR4 Program from the Queensland Government to the ABGC is gaining significant momentum as we start 2023. The ABGC will have full responsibility for the running of the program from 30 June 2023.
The TR4 Board, made up of government and industry representatives, will meet several times over the next few months to continue to address issues to ensure that a smooth hand over occurs. The next meeting is Monday 23 January.
The industry representatives on the Board are Leon Collins (ABGC Director and Tully grower), Adrian Crema (Tully grower) and Leanne Erakovic (CEO, ABGC). If you have any questions or issues that you would like raised at this TR4 Board meeting please contact Leon, Adrian or Leanne who can act on your behalf. The best number to call is the ABGC office on 07 3278 4786.
