Dear growers,
Over the coming days we’ll aim to share as much information as we can to assist in your damage assessments and recovery from ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper, as well as any updates regarding possible disaster assistance.
At this time it is important that you:
- Take photos and videos of any damage
- Keep any receipts or records used in your clean-up/recovery
Ahead of any possible announcements, QRIDA also recommends that you:
- Make sure you have access to several forms of personal ID
- Have a copy of your rates notice, lease agreements, financial statements, tax returns, bank statements and insurance available
- Familiarise yourself with your Regional Area Manager: https://www.qrida.qld.gov.au/what-qrida-does/services-your-region
You can report your damage via this DAF Queensland Agriculture Survey: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/a65512900348401a812e57d743e4c104 (Please note, this is not a request for assistance, but it does help inform Government when making decisions regarding disaster relief.)
If you would like assistance in completing this survey, please reach out to the DAF Banana Extension team or ABGC.
- Contact the DAF Banana Extension Team: Tegan Cavallaro (tegan.cavallaro@daf.qld.gov.au or 0459 846 053) or Ingrid Jenkins (Ingrid.jenkins@daf.qld.gov.au or 0497 801 980)
- Contact the ABGC team: Amy Spear (amy@abgc.org.au or 0439 005 946) or via info@abgc.org.au
As always, please keep in close contact with your agent or wholesaler regarding market conditions and the fruit you are sending.
