Banana growers invited to Soil Health Workshops in March 2026

The Australian Banana Growers’ Council (ABGC) is inviting growers across Far North Queensland to take part in a series of practical soil health workshops this March, delivered by well-known regenerative agriculture specialist Simon Mattsson, from Soil, Land and Food.

Sessions will be held on the 18 & 19 of March 2026 at the South Johnstone DPI (near Innisfail).

Simon, a fourth-generation cane farmer and award-winning innovator, will guide participants through the foundations of soil biology, soil carbon, nutrient cycling and building more resilient farming systems. His experience working with various agricultural industries has supported growers to increase organic matter, reduce input costs, and strengthen soil function over time.

  • Thursday 19 March –Soil Health Intro Day (second date option)
