Banana industry imports meeting

Banana industry imports meeting

Wednesday 24 September | 3.30pm | Innisfail and online

The Federal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has announced a review of quarantine arrangements following a formal request from the Philippines to allow fresh banana imports into Australia.

The Australian Banana Growers’ Council strongly opposes this proposal. Imports are unnecessary and pose unacceptable risks to our growers, our industry, and our communities.

Join us in-person or online to find out more about ABGC’s position in response to the announcement from DAFF, action taken so far and the next steps for you and your peak industry body.

This meeting is open to all Australian banana growers and banana-related businesses. It’s your chance to hear directly from the ABGC, to share your thoughts and to ask any questions.

The event will take place in-person (Innisfail) and online. This format provides the best platform for our industry to receive up-to-date information, as soon as possible – no matter where you are.

When: Wednesday 24 September, 2025
Where: Online (Teams link) or Brothers Leagues Club, Innisfail (Shamrock Room)
