TR4 Program now led by industry
Queensland’s ongoing management of Panama disease tropical race 4 (Panama TR4) is now in the hands of the banana industry, led by the Australian Banana Growers’ Council.
The transition of disease management to industry is the first of its kind to occur in Queensland and is a culmination of government and industry working cohesively since the initial detection in 2015. Read more: click here
PALM scheme update
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme Approved Employer Deed and Guidelines have been released.
This is the final step in consolidating the Seasonal Worker Programme (SWP) and the Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS) into the single PALM scheme.
A Factsheet and Frequently Asked Questions are available, with webinars also planned to clarify requirements and respond to questions.
