01. What is your role within the industry (e.g. grower, COO, banana category manager)?
I am the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Mackays Marketing, working closely with growers and supply chain partners to ensure efficient market access, strong commercial outcomes, and sustainable growth across the banana industry.
02. What is your background and how did you come to join the ABGC board?
My background is in operations and business management, with a strong focus on the agricultural sector. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the challenges and opportunities within horticulture, particularly bananas. My involvement with industry initiatives and close collaboration with growers naturally led to an opportunity to contribute at a strategic level, and joining the ABGC board allows me to support the industry on a broader scale.
03. What key priorities are you focused on as a director?
As a director, my key priorities include strengthening industry sustainability, improving supply chain efficiency, and working for growers to remain well supported and profitable. I am also focused on advocating for biosecurity, innovation, and strong industry representation so that the Australian banana sector continues to thrive.
04. Why should banana farmers join ABGC?
ABGC provides a unified voice for banana growers, ensuring their interests are represented at all levels. Membership offers access to valuable industry insights, research, biosecurity support, and advocacy efforts that directly benefit growers. 05. What is a fun fact about you?
A fun fact about me is that I love getting out on the water boating and fishing whenever I can it is my favourite way to unwind and make the most of living in North Queensland.
